Center of My World Ketubah
Center of My World Ketubah
ABOUT THIS DESIGN:
Created in the style of an antique, old world map, "Center of My World" by Micah Parker is a unique ketubah. The circular design has the continents in tan, and the oceans in a parchment look. To the west is North and South America; to the east, Europe and Africa. Curving longitude and latitude lines form a grid across the map, while a dotted line forms the equator and encircles the globe. To show that your love for one another not only covers all the world, but also consumes every day and night, in the upper left corner of the tan background, our artist has placed a sun that looks like it has been cut out of the paper to expose the parchment beneath. Night is depicted in the lower right corner by a crescent moon and three stars - again appearing to have been cut from the paper to show the parchment. The phrase "You are the sun in my days and the moon in my nights" in both English and Hebrew wraps elegantly around the world. A compass rose is placed at the top, above the ketubah text which flows between the continents - the Hebrew text in the Northern Hemisphere, the English in the Southern Hemisphere - using beautiful, handwritten-style, script fonts.
